Federal Tax Credit: Expires December 31, 2016

 

A Tax Credit, 30% of cost with no upper limit applies to existing homes and new construction. Both principal residences and second homes qualify. Rentals do not qualify.
Products include Geothermal Heat Pumps, Small Wind Turbines and Solar Energy Systems.

 

Federal Tax Credit: Expires December 31, 2016

 

A tax credit, 30% of the cost, up to $500.00 per .5kW of power capacity. Applies to existing homes and new construction that are the principal residence. Rentals and second homes do not qualify. Products include Fuel Cells (Residential Fuel Cell and Microturbine System).

High Efficiency HVAC Rebate

 

Through the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, CL&P (Connecticut Light and Power) and UI (United Illuminating) special incentives are offered for installing electric central air conditioning or electric heat pump systems that meet specific energy-efficiency ratings established by the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute(AHRI). Customers may qualify for a $1,000.00 or $500.00 incentive for installing certain ENERGY STAR® central air conditioning or heat pump systems.

Three types are available for the rebate—a split HVAC system, a package system (compressor, condenser, fan), and a ductless heat pump. system.www.goingductless.com/ct.

 

Gas Hot Water Rebate

 

Through Yankee Gas, Southern Connecticut Gas, Connecticut Natural Gas and the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, customers may qualify for a $300.00 incentive for replacing or installing an energy efficient indirect water heater attached to a natural gas ENERGY STAR® rate boiler or an on-demand natural gas-fired tankless water heater.

Geothermal Heat Pump Rebate

 

Geothermal rebates are available from the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund and the Connecticut Clean Energy Fund. The Energy Efficiency Fund is administered by CL&P and UI .The Clean Energy Fund is managed by Connecticut Innovations. Customers must apply to both programs to qualify for either incentive.
